ASCEND conducts a thorough assessment and develops a customized teaching plan for the unique needs of each child with a focus on building functional skills and decreasing challenging behaviors.

Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE)
The Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE) seeks 3-4 University of Arizona students to serve as near-peer mentors and outreach educators in the Imagine Your STEM Future Program. The Imagine Your STEM Future Program (IYSF) is a collaboration between WISE and Raytheon focusing on conducting outreach education to high school girls and fostering female-empowerment within the STEM fields. IYSF mentors facilitate STEM lessons between 2-3 days per week in the Sunnyside Unified School District.

The Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.
