Personal & Family Financial Planning
Grow financial knowledge that goes beyond dollars and cents. The Personal & Family Financial Planning program gives students a solid foundation in financial planning and wealth management, broadens their understanding of ethical and fiduciary responsibilities and fine-tunes their interpersonal skills to ensure fulfilling, long-term relationships with future clients.

Undergraduate Major
Students in the B.S. program complete core financial planning classes and electives designed to increase their understanding of the issues individuals and families face when making important personal and family financial decisions. Additionally, a required financial services industry internship cultivates on-the-job skills.

Undergraduate Minor
The minor in Personal & Family Financial Planning prepares students for a variety of careers that promote financial success for individuals and families. Coursework includes such classes as Applied Family Investment Planning & Savings Strategies and Personal & Family Estate Planning.
Internships
These supervised, practical experiences give students hands-on opportunities to work in a professional setting within the financial services industry, offering the advanced training necessary for a fulfilling career.


Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
The University of Arizona Personal & Family Financial Planning curriculum is approved by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Completing either the major or the minor fulfills the requirements to take the Certified Financial Planning licensing exam.
Career Planning
Companies around the country actively recruit our program's well-prepared graduates for jobs such as estate planner, wealth manager, financial analyst, bank trust officer, financial planner, client services specialist and more. The PFFP program has the opportunity for students to learn and use such platforms as eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Morningstar and Right Capital, the integrated financial planning program used by Charles Schwab.
