Students in the B.S. program complete core financial planning classes and electives designed to increase their understanding of the issues individuals and families face when making important personal and family financial decisions. Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
The University of Arizona Personal & Family Financial Planning curriculum is approved by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Completing either the major or the minor fulfills the requirements to take the Certified Financial Planning licensing exam.

The PFFP program has the opportunity for students to learn and use such platforms as eMoney, Money Guide Pro, Morningstar and Right Capital, the integrated financial planning program used by Charles Schwab.
