Evaluation Research

Submitted by caott on

The SNAP-Ed program partners in local communities to improve community health related to nutrition, physical active living, and food systems. The SNAP-Ed Evaluation team evaluates this work with a lens toward community engagement and health equity. Working with the evaluation team, the student will help build our knowledge base around community engaged approaches to SNAP-Ed work using the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA) model and a case study in Yuma.

Activities may include:

  1. researching and summarizing existing materials and findings about RLA
  2. helping develop surveys or focus group guides to understand how this work is going for implementing staff and/or residents in Yuma
  3. summarizing results of the surveys and/or focus groups
  4. presenting findings informally to SNAP-Ed priority users.

This is an opportunity for a student interested in health equity, community engagement, and community health/nutrition to get real world experience learning and supporting programming and evaluation in the field that builds capacity for residents to be change agents for health in their communities.
