The Family Engagement Program at UA Cooperative Extension helps families with children aged 0-18 to create a rich learning environment for their children. We have a number of unique programs including a new project to build Developmental Solutions Workshops for families with children with speech delays. The Special Projects & STEM Class Development member will gain key program building experience by assisting with logistics, communication and other programming needs.
Preferred Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience in health, education, home economics or nutrition programs; OR one year of experience working with young children; OR any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation is required upon employment.
Member Duties : Assist with building new developmental solutions workshops; Liaise with the Speech, language and Hearing department to recruit students to assist with the program; Assist with lesson plans for the Garden Discovery Days STEM activities for children aged 0-5; Assist with lesson plans for Financial Literacy in the early years; If classes are in person, provide STEM and other activities for children, ages 0-18; Prepare activities for children and presentations for adults at outreach events and 21st Century Share Fair; Conduct research on early childhood and parent education programming; If classes are in person, assist with food planning and pick-up for classes; Assist with collecting and managing data assessments. Follow teaching material to present to small and large groups on health and social service topics. Knowledge of community health and social agencies, and programs in Pima County.
