Cardinal Pointe Financial Group, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc., is seeking a part-time to full-time Financial Planning Assistant/Intern to add to our growing team. Cardinal Pointe Financial Group, which focuses on comprehensive financial planning, currently has offices located in Louisville, Lexington and Florence KY, West Chester, Dayton and Cincinnati OH, Fairfax VA and Tucson and Sierra Vista AZ with plans to continue growing the firm through referrals and acquisitions.
The Financial Planning Assistant/Intern will primarily assist senior financial planning analysts and financial advisors in the financial planning workflow by working directly with a team of financial planning analysts, advisors, and clients to manage, gather and analyze client data, help prepare preliminary financial plans and other client deliverables. The role requires that the candidate consistently follow high standards of business & professional ethics and legal & regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare for client meetings by pulling files, inputting client data into planning software, and preparing additional client data as needed
- Track the completion of client financial planning pre-work prior to financial planning meetings
- File documents and maintain client files in electronic file system
- Prepare preliminary Financial Planning models for senior financial planning analysts to review
- Attend and participate in client meetings with Financial Advisors and senior financial planning analysts
Qualifications:
- Current sophomores or juniors enrolled in a 4 -year undergraduate program majoring in finance and a desire to work in the financial planning profession
- Demonstrated leadership focus with ability to drive results
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment and build relationships with clients
Education/Experience:
- Students currently enrolled in a CFP® accredited 4-year Bachelor’s degree program
- Financial services experience is a plus
- Desire to obtain CERTIFIED FINANIAL PLANNER™ designation post-graduation is strongly preferred.
