Basic Needs Internships
The University of Arizona’s Basic Needs Coalition invites applications for two paid undergraduate internship positions (10 hours per week). These positions are meant to help increase awareness about the challenges students on our campus face meeting their basic needs (e.g., food, housing, finances), and about relevant resources that can help peers and colleagues thrive.
Benefits: Wage of $14.70/hour; mentorship; skill development in design, communication, social media content creation, and teamwork; opportunity to build a portfolio of marketing materials; potential for future recommendations and references; enrollment in internship credit.
Seeking: Ideal applicants will have experience or interest in developing skills in at least one of the following areas: (1) graphic design, (2) video production, (3) social media content creation, (4) web design, and/or (5) facilitation.
Looking for: Main campus students who take initiative, enjoy working both independently and with a mentor, have a strong track record of accountability on projects, and are open to learning. Students who have knowledge of and/or lived experience related to basic needs insecurity are also preferred.
To learn more/apply: Please submit a brief email describing your interest and relevant experience (this does not need to be a formal cover letter) to Dr. Jasmine Linabary at jlinabary@arizona.edu. If available, please also attach a copy of your resume.
Review of applications will begin immediately, and applications will continue to be accepted until the positions are filled.
