Stock Farm Club is an upscale private club located in Hamilton, Montana that evolved from the vision of Charles Schwab. Located in the scenic Bitterroot Valley, the club is a sportsman’s paradise, highlighted by an eighteen-hole, Tom Fazio designed golf course. Club members enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness center, equestrian, clay bird shooting, tennis, swimming, and quick access to the Bitterroot River for world class fly fishing. The club offers upscale dining and casual dining options at our newly constructed pool facilities during the summer months. The authentic Montana atmosphere at Stock Farm is a blend of modern amenities and a more simplistic way of life surrounded by nature.
The Retail Intern will work closely with the Retail Merchandise Manager to assist in making purchasing decisions, maintain appropriate stock levels, completing inventory processes, accurately receiving and pricing all incoming inventory, maintaining a neat and organized stock room and regularly updating sales floor displays to catch the customers attention. The position requires strong interpersonal and leadership skills as the person will be interacting consistently with members, guests and other staff members. Daily golf operations, team leadership and the ability to represent Stock Farm in all interactions are also required skills. The Retail Intern will also assist in other operations to include maintaining stock levels and visual appeal in the Fitness Centre and Equestrian Centre.
Duties of Retail Intern:
- Assist in managing receipt of all inventory and retail pricing
- Assist with all prep work leading up to placing merchandise on display – to include tagging, steaming, folding, etc.
- Assist in performing all end of month inventories and reconciling
- Maintain a Golf Shop appearance to a standard reflective of the Club
- Work with Retail Manager to execute visual display changeovers
- Work towards budgetary: Sales, COGS, Inventory Turnover
- Assist with placing special orders and follow up
- Assist with fill-in orders and ordering through vendor B2B sites
- Work with Retail Manager to oversee Club uniform inventory and ordering
- Manage all Stock Farm ecommerce and Shopify site by keeping online store current with inventory and new styles
- Be a strong daily presence on golf shop floor to serve our members and guests
- Assist golf staff with daily golf functions
- Assist golf staff with tournament operations
Job / Position Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Retailing and Consumer Science
- Knowledge in using computer accounting software, Microsoft Suite, Jonas and spreadsheets is helpful, but on job training is given
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and has strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong Member service skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to be self-directed, is highly motivated and reliable.
- Demonstrates the ability to successfully work in a collaborative, team-oriented organization.
- Is required to always maintain impeccable integrity.
- Commitment to and a passion for the Stock Farm Club.
Other Expectations:
- Duties to include lifting boxes and bags up to 45 lbs and using stairs
- 40/45 hour work week – set to the discretion of the Director of Golf and Retail Mgr.
