Education Intern

Minimum 4 hours weekly.

At Tucson Village Farm it is our mission to reconnect young people to a healthy food system, teach them how to grow and prepare fresh food, and empower them to make healthy life choices. Each year we are able to serve about 15,000 people and complete over 65,000 hours of education. TVF is a stimulating and motivating community to be a part of and we are looking for diligent, curious, and inspired interns to help us do what we do best!

Serving as an intern for TVF compliments students' own education, as well as helps to build their resume, with the first-hand experience, skills, and stories that come from working with students from across Southern Arizona.

Education Interns will primarily support our renowned educational field-trip program “Growing Forward." Following in-depth training and shadowing, interns teach youth (and adult chaperones) about food production, nutrition, natural resource conservation, traditional and vermicomposting, physical activity and more. This is a great opportunity to practice teaching elementary students in groups of 10-25 students in a supportive and encouraging environment.

All positions require consistent punctuality and a high standard of professionalism. Tucson Village Farm is located in Tucson, Arizona. For more information contact Liz Sparks, esparks@cals.arizona.edu
