Volunteer victim advocates needed! See Flyer Here
The Victim Services Division, of the Pima County Attorney’s Office, is recruiting volunteers to attend a six-week crisis intervention training, starting September 6, 2022 to become victim advocates. Victim Advocates respond to crime scenes to support victims of crime and also help support victims through the criminal justice system. This training is well-structured, comprehensive and hands-on. It teaches basic crisis intervention skills, concepts and techniques, while examining various types of crimes and specific victimization dynamics that victims of crimes may face, including common trauma reactions. Many of our volunteers go on to work in fields like law enforcement, social work, mental health services, and victim advocacy. Anyone interested in attending the training or volunteering with the division must come to one of the informational sessions (See attached flyer for details). Please email us at vsvolunteers@pcao.pima.gov or call 520-724-5525 for more information, or to sign up for an information session on August 9, August 16, or August 23.
