Hello, I’m Liz! I’m the Academic Advisor for students in the HDFS major, and I’m also the Assistant Director for Academic Advising in the Norton School of Human Ecology. I earned my B.A. from the University of Arizona, where I fell in love with Tucson, the UArizona community, and higher education. I went on to pursue a Master’s degree from the University of Southern California and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Arizona. I love to learn and I’m so fortunate to learn alongside students every day as an academic advisor. I truly look forward to collaborating with students as they explore their personal interests, strengths, and goals throughout their college experience. Outside of work I like to run, hike, camp, and spend time outdoors. To me there’s nothing better than a simple day filled with sun, good music, good coffee, and being with my animals.

Hello! My name is Arianna Buchanan and I am a proud alum of the College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (CALES) and the Norton School of Human Ecology! I am originally from San Luis, AZ, and a proud transfer student. In May 2020 I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Family Studies & Human Development, which has been renamed to Human Development & Family Science (HDFS). I have an M.Ed in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. My role is to support first-year Human Development & Family Science students in their transition to the university. I also support students who are considering majoring in the Human Development & Family Science. I am happy to chat with you about the program, and what it has to offer, and help you make the best and most informed decision. Overall, I am here to support you in achieving your personal, academic, and career goals!

In my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, doing trampoline rebound workouts, and diamond art.
